Just landed in Newark…

I just landed in the Newark Airport… I was met by a nice driver and am now sitting quietly in the back of an exceptionally clean towncar and trying to enjoy the ride from the airport to the hotel. I will be up here for 10 days, and all I can hope for is that I leave with my job. I will be so relieved when this is over.

So far all I know is that I am in a class of 40 other new hires, of which 10 have been in the industry for less than 2 years. I am unsure how many are actually brand new to the industry like me. I know that I don’t have to have a roomie, which is great, I know that there will be homework and tests on a daily basis, and I know that the security is so intense that my employer will know my every move even while I am in the hotel and outside of the training center (they are connected, and my employer owns the hotel and evidently installed a slew of cameras everywhere). I have never been much good at keeping my guard up, and I am definitely known to put my foot in my mouth, so I am really going to have to mind my P’s and Q’s here. It’s one thing to be on camera during class but to have them stretch into common areas of the hotel is a new idea all together!

Well can’t wait to see what’s going to happen. Big nervous lump in my stomach, and I already miss my Oatmeal!
